How do the plans work?
Our plans are feature-based with pay-as-you-go usage. Each plan includes free credits to get started, then you pay only for what you use. Base provides project-wide AI assistance, Build adds the ability to update your files and connected services, and Beyond includes all AI models and your own tool connections.
What are the free credits?
Every plan includes free credits when you sign up: Base ($5), Build ($10), and Beyond ($20). Build and Beyond plans also include additional credits when you upgrade ($5 and $10 respectively). These credits cover your initial usage and help you explore BB's capabilities.
How does usage pricing work?
After your free credits, you pay transparent, provider-based costs. Usage varies by task complexity and your choice of AI model. You can monitor usage in the app and set spending limits to control costs. Credits are purchased in $5 minimum increments and expire after 12 months.
Can BB actually update my files, or just read them?
Both — it depends on your plan. Base lets BB read context from your files and connected services (Notion, Google Docs, GitHub, and more). Build and Beyond unlock the ability for BB to actually update those files — edit documents, update records, manage issues, and more.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes! Plan upgrades are immediate with prorated billing. Plan downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing month, so you keep your current plan benefits until then. All plan changes can be made through the app Settings at any time.
What is local-only mode?
Local-only mode lets you use Beyond Better without a BB account by supplying your own AI key. With Ollama integration, you can even run completely offline. This mode includes filesystem access and your own tool connections, but not connected cloud services. Learn more about local-only mode.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards via Stripe. Enterprise customers can arrange for invoice payments. All prices are in US dollars. No credit card is required for signup — you can explore BB with free credits first.
